The Olympus LS-P2 Hi-Res digital audio recorder from Olympus Australia makes high resolution audio recording possible – anywhere, anytime. Thanks to its compact size, not only can you record instrumental and choral musical performances, you can easily record sample outdoors sounds, or use the many playback functions to record and play back your business meetings. The LS-P2 is also the first recorder to include Bluetooth connectivity. Using this function, you can wirelessly play back recorded audio through your Bluetooth capable speakers or headphones.
High Quality Recording
The LS-P2 features the 3-microphone TRESMIC system, which has two directional microphones positioned at a 90° layout for enhanced stereo sound, and an omni-directional microphone at the centre for improved low frequency range.
96 kHz 24 bit, Linear PCM Recording Quality
The Olympus LS-P2 supports linear PCM recording at bit rates up to 24 bit and sampling frequencies as high as 96 kHz – far surpassing the 44.1kHz 16 bit of CD-quality audio. By selecting this bit rate and sampling frequency, users can make CDs of their own recordings.
Playback Functions for Business Situations
The Olympus LS-P2 digital voice and music recorder is also equipped a variety of useful playback functions for business situations. The Voice Playback function skips parts of a recorded file where there are no voices, and plays back only those parts where voice is recorded, which is ideal for transcribing meeting minutes.
Create Meeting Minutes Efficiently with Voice Playback

By using the Voice Playback function, you can skip non-voice parts during playback, and only play parts of the file where there is voice. This feature makes transcribing meeting minutes efficient. For example, if 70% of the recorded file contains speech, you can finish listening to a 1-hour recording in about 40 minutes. Once you finish recording, use Voice Playback to save time and improve playback for transcription.
Manual Recording Level Settings
The Manual Recording Level setting let you fine-tune the recording level to match the volume of your sound source, maximising the dynamic range for high quality audio recording. This is a particularly important function when recording music. The Limiter function is effective for keeping volume below a specific level when using the Manual setting. By checking the recording level meter on the LCD display and PEAK display indicator, you can fine-tune your recording levels. Otherwise, Intelligent Auto Mode is convenient for when you want to record conversation immediately without adjusting levels.
Direct USB Mac or PC Connection Without a Cable
The built-in USB connector can be easily deployed and stored using the slide lever. With this feature, you can connect directly to a computer without using a cable or software. Not only can you save and share your recordings, the LS-P2 can also be recharged via USB without having to remove the battery, and the recorder can also be used as a USB memory device.
